The storm is riding over the sea,
a breathless spectacle!
The sea shrinks as the massive clouds,
grow like a menace, long dormant,
now shedding constraint
surge to swallow the mighty sea.
The ephemeral dreams of conquering the elemental ancient sea,
like the projections of the mind
filling in the contours of emptiness,
the void invaded by the rush of the wind.

I had Bengali neighbors but we always conversed in English or Hindi. I wish I had picked up more of Bengali from them. However, I have read many of the Bengali classics in translation. My last reading in Bengali was 'Na Hanyate' by Maitreyidevi. I read it in Gujarati translation.
It was nice to read your Marathi words, and that too in Devnagari!REPLY 30w - +Sushama Karnik wonderful to be an inspiration for you, dear Sushama. I really like your poem and what you are saying about the void. I feel so many times connected with it, when I'm at the Sea.
