The window shuttered away the world out of their view.

Space, the vast stretches of chaos, man-made devastations
were erased, and on this side of the window was only love.
Years of bliss and ecstasy came and passed away.
Smothered in the long days of intimacy, they needed now space to breathe, live their different lives.
Intimacy and space, collisions of identities,
and that brings the moment when the window opens
to the world that begins to question
the mystique of love.
But Chagall's canvas captures the shade of the infinity
in the dreaming eyes and the night, and the drifting moon.

 THE TORCH BEARER

After the price was paid and the journey done,
somewhere along the line,
when all was deathly calm, the river still flowed,
and on her bank stood the torchbearer,
the ubiquitous, silent witness of history,
uninvolved, but sad,
pointing his finger at the signs and marks
of the ruinous passions and blind surrender to wrath.
There are times and spaces where history is enacted
and leaves an indelible mark,
and somewhere along the line,
the torchbearer pauses, grievous and sad.

 The black intensity

thickens as Time,
the teacher
writes.
Irredeemable is the Past,
the progenitor of the Good and the Evil.
Thinktanks, overawed by Time's fury,
and outlawed by the 'Powers that be',
have fallen silent.
The overwhelming need to give a thought
to what Time, the inscrutable teacher, has been writing,
is the prime need of our time.

On a sudden a midnight of a purple blue

Stunned the white washed walls of the house,
Casting no shadow
The house emerged out of the dark,
Surreal, illusory, a visionary spark.
A stark contrast to the discerning eye
Between what the heart desires and the mind rejects.
The purple light pours in relentlessly.
Blurs the lines that mark the ravages of time and the ranting of the past.
The moonlight Sonata feels like rain
And when the moonlight rains
The season is in a rage.
