 The two women set out

To meet the sea
On a day when the noon is the time to seek
their own shadows fallen
in the shifting sands.
Turbulence is not the answer they need,
not what they like for the sea to be.
It's the sea they want
when the tide is low
and shallow is the flow
of the receding sea.
One is with a parasol to beat the sun;
the other with her head bare to the heat.
One, not ready for the torment of the wind,
the other is mindless of what the sea can do.
What are they seeking?
I do not know.
Will they find it?
I do not know;
two women set out to meet the sea.
