The Twilight At The Touch Of Moon Alexander bolotov( Ukrainian, born 1981) Blue Twilight, Skyscrapers, 2020

The twilight at the touch of moon,

and the rain fell streaming straight in lines.
I had seen you back in two thousand nine
frisking in the lamplight with your mom behind you.
She was laughing, panting, breathless trying
to catch up with you.
The rain fell the same way again tonight.
I saw you again with the mind's eye.
The rainfall had a ponderous gait
like you walking straight, sedate and calm.
The sky scrapers that now lined the road
were racing to touch the sky,
and you had perhaps grown taller than your mom
who then used to chase you to hold your hand lest you slipped
in the slushy spray of silver rain.
The sky rose high and would grow higher still
while the road with the rain water turned into a lake
growing deeper and deeper to probe the secrets of earth.
For hours I dreamt and saw you grow
lovelier than the moon fairy singing in the rain.
Sushama Karnik.
