Lalita Paranjape There are some we come across in Nagaon and Alibag. Among one of them we discovered back the abandoned property of my husband's ancestors. My husband and his brothers and cousins have often recounted the memories of Walache birde and aand aamras eaten in that vastu when they visited their Aaji (their father's aunt) living there with her daughters. Kadwe waal and mangoes were the staple food in summer. So they were served with these every day. Many of my husband's generation had recently visited this spot but none of the villagers was ready to tell us about its present status.
